About Shogun Stables
Shogun Stables serves a vital role in preserving the traditional equine arts, providing care and training for horses that participate in festivals and cultural events throughout the year. Our stables are also the part-time home to the sacred horses of the Nikko Toshogu Shrine. These horses are central to various ceremonies and are a living link to Japan's rich historical and cultural heritage, participating in events such as Yabusame (horseback archery) and the Senin Gyoretsu (Thousand Samurai Procession).

Nestled in the scenic surroundings of Nikko, Shogun Stables offers a unique glimpse into the world of traditional Japanese equine practices, making it a pivotal institution in the continuation and celebration of these age-old traditions
